What search engines do HR people use to find out about prospective employees?

What are the best people search engines on the web? I am looking for 2 people from high school, but they seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. It's like they didn't exist. What do you think happened to them?

1. HR and employers probably do not use a public way to find that info, especially background checks that are done by private companies. You maybe can try a "person locater" company, but be cautious - be sure they are legit with the BBB and not reported on www.ripoffreport.com
2. To find a person for free www.ZABASEARCH.com is the best ( i don't work for them and it's not my website). It puts the person's birth year next to the name so you can know if it might be your friend. www.SWITCHBOARD.com (not my website) is a telephone directory for all 50 states. Free.
