is it a crime? what do or can I do? On saturday I enquired about an african grey parrot, on sunday morning I received a reply saying the person is in Scotland and can transport the parrot if it needs to be transported and they had 2 left, so told em them I have both and they said they would get them transported by a delivery agency and they would contact them this morning, the delivery agency would then contact us for payment for the transportation of the birds. I received 4 emails this morning from the agency asking for payment to be made via thomas cook or money gram which immediately raised huge suspicion, further down the email it says the company are a cameroon based company with a branch in scotland so i typed their name (or supposed name) into the internet search bar and up came fastway global a courier company with a very genuine looking website and say they have branches almost all over the world and all have their contact details on so I rung my nearest branch in portsmouth and enquired about getting 2 birds transported and they said they dont deal with livestock transportation. So now Im thinking this is just a scam and they are using the company's header and name. On the emails there is also a picture of dogs on a plane but in outlook express the picture doesnt show untill you allow the pictures to in mine so in the place o the picture I first had an address for it which is www.petflight.com/images/dogs_on_a_plane_s.jpg? and this has been taken from the petflight.com website. So obviously Im not getting the birds and I havent parted with any money at all, but I dont know whether someone needs to be told about it, I know there are many internet scams around and this is just yet another of them but is there people that you notify about this? do you call the police or something? I dont wanna be arrested for wasting police time or something hencce the million questions. I have emailed the man about the birds back saying that I have a friend going to scotland on thursday so would it be possible for them to pick up the birds just to see what he says if I even get a reply which I very much doubt. Many thanks for your time
John Edwards " Corporate Greed Message"? Is this a winning message ? The low end jobs we give to illegals the high end jobs are either given to people with visa's from other countries that work here and they can pay them less or they ship American jobs to other countries so they have less taxes, less building cost and less pay for technical positions, Corporate GREED. Selling out America both the Republicans and Democrats. We don't make anything anymore, most products made in China. Example a executive of a company did such a poor job he was fired with 45 million dollar severance pay, health insurance for his family and himself for life, perks like private executive plane travel etc. but the same company lays off 5,000 employees. Company AD ( removed corporate Bank name ) We’re hiring for our new technology resource facility in Hyderabad, India "Banking Company" India Solutions is a new facility that aims to meet our need for application development, testing and other technical functions, and is an integral part of the Technology Information Group in the U.S. We plan to employ up to 450 team members by the end of 2007. If you are an Indian citizen or a foreign national lawfully authorized to work in India, we may have an opportunity for you. Broadening our search for technical talent As we move forward with state-of-the-art technology and security solutions to serve our increasingly diverse and global business, we must broaden the scope of our search for technical talent. The talent pool in India is a key success factor in moving us into the future, and further strengthening our customers’ . Here’s what Managing Director of "bank Company" India Solutions, has to say: “We are extremely pleased to announce the formal inauguration of our technology development centre here in Hyderabad. India’s vast and highly-talented technical work force, combined with local government support for business, has made Hyderabad a very attractive location to support our future growth.”
How about this No place like home: Brazilian illegals leave US for better job prospects? When Leonardo Nakao’s flight from Brazil landed in Boston at 1:30 a.m., he didn’t have to search long for a job. By 5 a.m., he was pumping gas at a suburban service station. It was July 4, 2000, and Brazilian immigrants were enjoying a star-spangled boom. More offers poured in. In his first week in the United States, Mr. Nakao got seven calls about jobs to fill the two days he wasn’t working. He was soon earning $1,000 a week. Then, two years ago, the global recession hit. Work got more strenuous, and the value of the dollar had fallen relative to Brazil’s real, slashing the value of the $400 a month he sent to his family in Brazil. “It’s difficult, with the dollar low. The employment is not easy. The rent is high. The gasoline is high,” Nakao said on a rare break from his 80-hour/$1,200-a-week landscaping job. “If the opportunities were better and the immigration laws more favorable, I’d think about staying.” Instead, he was counting the days – just eight more at the time of this interview – until he followed the 20 members of his family who had already left the US in the last two years to go back home. It’s a calculation that many of America’s newest residents are making. For some, the US remains the best place to make a living, despite its economic woes and tougher stance on immigration. For others, the lure of home has grown, especially when home has escaped the depths of the global recession. No one knows how many Indians, Chinese, or Brazilians have left in the past two years. The US gave up trying to track emigration in the late 1950s. But estimates and anecdotal evidence suggest that for Brazilians, at least, more are leaving than ever before. The outflow is leaving its mark on places like downtown Framingham, Mass. The Boston suburb, founded in the 1600s by English settlers, began to acquire its Latin flair in the late 1990s when placards in Portuguese and the green, yellow, and blue of the Brazilian flag began popping up in once-vacant downtown storefronts. By mid-2005, one-quarter of Framingham’s residents was foreign-born, the vast majority of them Brazilian. An estimated 70 percent of the stores downtown are Brazilian-owned. In the past two years, however, the number of Brazilians living here has dwindled. Local estimates vary widely – up to 40 percent have left, according to the owner of one prominent local flower shop. “There’s [fewer] immigrants out on the streets,” says Gilberto Yoshida, president of Chang Express, which has been selling plane tickets to South America for 16 years. His company saw a “tremendous spike” in one-way tickets to Brazil sold last winter, which is when seasonal construction and outdoor work tend to dry up. What is clear is that almost no new immigrants are coming in. “Zero. Zero. Zero. No one is coming from Brazil,” says Manuel Barilio, as he counts the handwritten entries in his spiral notebook where immigrants register to say they’re looking for work. Mr. Barilio, director of the Bom Samaritano social services center in Framingham, says he now gets at most a handful of entries each day. http://features.csmonitor.com/economyrebuild/2009/09/24/no-place-like-home-brazilian-immigrants-leave-us-for-better-job-prospects/

Geo-Engineering/Chemtrail Controversy? I wrote this in response to Leonardo DiCaprio's global warming question and it got me back into thinking about the chemtrail issue. "This may not be something everyone can do but it's something our government has been doing for a long time now without telling anyone, which makes me wonder just how severely in danger is our planet. You can call it a conspiracy (as everyone does because they fear what they don't officially know to be true) but it's already been on some local news channels http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIAWWL4HQDg&mode=related&search= and in several newspapers http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2006/06/geo-engineering-in-vogue/ that soon the government will be officially disclosing what they have been doing for the past 10+ years. What many people have known as "chemtrails" (jet planes flying in patterns leaving long un-contrail-like lines in the sky that gradually spead out and make the sky a milky haze) are now being termed as a project called... .."Geo-Engineering." Essentially, jet planes fly morning, noon, and night dumping aerosols into the stratosphere (mainly a form of Barium oxide and Aluminum) that reflects radiation from the sun back into space and is supposed to help cool down the earth as well as repair the ozone layer, or patch it up (this of course doesn't explain the harmful pathogens found in samples, or the polymer fibers). The Barium form they use is highly toxic but once it absorbs CO2 gases it becomes non-toxic. You can see rainbow patches in the sky on days when they have heavy aerial aerosol operations. I noticed this for the 1st time on March 6th, 2006, just idly looking out my dorm room window. And I was shocked and astonished at what I saw so I began making a photo documentary of the events and researching what others knew about this online. I live in an area that has (or should I say HAD) nearly NO air traffic and since I moved up here from NYC, I had rarely seen jets up here until the "chemtrails" .started. Here is a poster I made that I tried to post around my campus, of course it had no effect and most people tore them down: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/OtakuChan/NewLookUp.jpg So when you hear about the signing and legalizing of the "Weather Modification Act" by congress, you know they are finally making "chemtrails" legal and letting us all know what's going on above us. So now all of those "conspiracy nuts" have been proved to be correct on some level, that yes, this IS happening, it's NOT normal, and we're not imagining things. The earth is in severe trouble if our government has to spend billions of our tax dollars to keep jets flying non-stop all over the globe dumping out aerosol particles to help mitigate global warming (or for whatever true purpose it serves, either way it's not good). This is the last chemtrail pic I took: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/OtakuChan/Chemtrails10-5-06.jpg?t=1166107965 So I leave it to you to decide what WE should do. I think this problem is far more serious than anything we can handle, as you can see, if things are so bad that we have to have a aerosol sheild sprayed into our sky everyday, I kind of doubt we can improve things much. All I can say is use energy star light bulbs, avoid buying aerosol products with CFCs, stop driving those gas-guzzling road hogging SUVs, and try to convince industrializing countries like China to find better technology to make less pollution since they are currenlty where we were during the industrial revolution and their pollution levels are sky rocketing. Telling the truth and awaiting the flames, Otaku So now, after reading all of that, seeing the links and becomming more informed, I just want to hear what you all think about chemtrails. And debunkers better beware, "They are just contrails" will not fly here.

Why is FROSTBITE the number one searched question today? IOW, doesn't anyone know we are in the middle of global warming? Me thinks Gore should load up his plane with some of our snow and drop it off on the Arctic ice cap. ============= Vive La Liberté: On Yahoo's home page... to the right, they have a list of the most searched words. For the past few minutes it has been frostbite. If you alway watch that, it gives you an idea of big things that are happening that may not be coverd by the news.. or will be coverd by the news shortly. ========== I'm really worried... I've been reading the reports of the 1974 Time magazine. No one would listen to them... everyone was idiots and thought they knew more than scientist, but now it's happening just as they predicted. Read this and you will wonder why our government hasn't prepared more for this Global Cooling!: http://www.nationalcenter.org/Time-Ice-Age-06-24-1974-Sm.jpg And don't blame me for being the messenger... almost all scientist agree and they know what they're doing! =========== Good point, West of Encino! I too am worried about average weather conditions. What would happen if we just had average weather! Moderate temperatures is a VERY bad sign! It scares me to death. I bet there will be a lot of IDIOTS that will completely miss the average and moderate weather, and they will go on living just as they always have without a care in the world. They don't have a clue that moderation and avergation (new word I made up) is the scourge most people will miss. ======== You come to my question and you at least get one thumbs up!

Why do planes still have black boxes? Couldn't all flight data be sent live to satellites as they fly, thereby making the black box obsolete. Nowadays we can collect data, video, audio and global positioning so easily to give easily accessible and comprehensive data in the event of a crash. Why the need to search for the black box after a crash? Techwing: very expensive multiple redundancy systems are built into aircraft too - for these very rare events. A modern upload plight data recorder would be a fraction of the cost. Any home computer user could afford the technology of a few webcams and software to upload. This is not beyond the capabilities of the aircraft industry is it? A non-event flight's data could even be deleted after 30 days to save on hard drive space if they need the cash! We need to think outside of the black box.
Do you think that it is also YOUR fault the economy is in shambles? I mean the people, which is you elected Bush who started it and the people again voted for Obama. Now you also did nothing to stop Obama for example, you could have ran against him to stop him from being elected. Nobody took an active role to sustain the economy and did not really care for anything and waited for the fat men to do something. You then also worried about irrelevant false statements like global warming and the war in iraq that we had already won. We are continually searching for a person who is dead (Osama Bin Laden) and the economy is getting so bad people are running planes into buildings. We all played the blame game and looked at others to do our job. So basically who is to blame, I think it is all of us.

Searching for an old PC game? Ok, here is what I remember. It was a game where you had 4 cites, one in each corner. With a moble command center, and one unit. There were cities all over the map, with nuetral units. the only units you can make were infantry, armor, planes, carriers, battleships. And it was turn based, nuetral untis were grey in color and each tema was Yellow, green, and 2 other colors. I think the game was called something conquest, like global conquest or conquest itself. Anyone heard of this? It came on 1.5 disks in the day

What do you think of this? Scary stuff? Juval Aviv was the Israeli Agent whom the movie "Munich" was about... He was Golda Meir's bodyguard and she appointed him to track down and bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who took the Israeli athletes hostage and killed them during the Munich Olympic Games. In a lecture in NYC a few weeks ago he shared information that EVERY American needs to know but our government has not shared. His bio is below, his book is "Staying Safe". First, I am going to share what he discussed in regard to the Bush Administration, 9/11 and Iraq and then I will share his predictions for the next attack on the U.S. He predicted the London subway bombing on the Bill O'Reilly show on Fox News stating publicly that it would happen within a week - O'Reilly laughed and mocked him saying that in a week he wanted him back on the show and unfortunately, within a week the terrorist attack occurred. Juval Aviv gave intelligence (via what he had gathered in Israel and the Middle East) to the Bush Administration about 9/11 a month before it occurred. His report specifically said they would use planes as bombs and target high profile buildings and monuments. The Administration ridiculed him and refused to respond. Congress has since hired him as a security consultant - but still the Administration does not listen to him. He didn't agree with going into Iraq - said it didn't make sense if we wanted terrorists responsible for 9/11 (and also he believes in Golda Meir's approach which was to bring justice to the terrorists but do not take down civilians - killing civilians only creates more terrorists - but similar to Bush, Israel's subsequent leaders were not as insightful as Golda Meir) - however, when we did decide to invade Iraq we should have learned from Israel's past mistakes. He very articulately stated that Israel's greatest mistake against their war on terror was to invade the West Bank and Gaza and stay there... He said they should have done the proven anti-terrorist strategy which was "Hit and Leave" instead of "Hit and Stay." Now we are stuck in Iraq and it is worse than Vietnam - Iraq is the U.S.'s West Bank/ Gaza. He doesn't think we will ever be able to truly leave because even when we are able to pull our troops back we will still have to go back regularly which will keep us quagmired. We should have hit hard and left immediately. Now for the scary stuff.... He predicts the next attack on the U.S. Is coming within the next few months. Forget hijacking airplanes because he says terrorists will NEVER try and hijack a plane again as the people on the plane will not go down quietly. Aviv believes our airport security is a joke- we are being reactionary versus looking at strategies that are effective. 1) our machines are outdated. They look for metal and the new explosives are made of plastic 2) He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire - we now have to take off our shoes, a group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives - now we can't bring liquids on board. He is waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on their underwear and light up in a plane or in the terminal and then we will all have to travel naked! 3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the gates, he says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times and on the front end when people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or get a drink and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. Israel checks bags before people can enter the airport. Now, back to his predictions: He says the next attack will come in a few months and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places that people congregate: Disneyland, Las Vegas, Big Cities (NY, SFO, Chicago, etc...) and there it will be shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, casinos, etc.. As well as rural America (Wyoming, Montana, etc...). The attack will be simultaneous detonations around the country (they like big impact) 5-8 cities including rural areas. They won't need to use suicide bombers because at largely populated places like the MGM Grand in Vegas - they can simply valet park! He says this is well known in intelligence circles but our government does not want to alarm Americans. However, he also said that the US will attack Iran and Syria before Bush leaves office. In addition, since we don't have enough troops The US will likely use small, strategic nuclear weapons regardless that the headlines the next day will read "US Nukes Islamic World" and the world will be a different place to such an extent that global warming will be irrelevant. He travels regularly to the Middle East and he knows his stuff. On a good note - he says we don't have to worry about being nuked - he says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not use sophisticated weapons - they like suicide as the frontline approach. He also says the next level of terrorists will not be coming from abroad, but will be homegrown - having attended our schools and universities - but will have traveled frequently back and forth to the Middle East. They will know and understand Americans but we won't understand them - we still only have a handful of Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks and we need that to change he said... What can we do? From an intelligence perspective he says the U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and technology for intelligence but follow Israel, Ireland and England's example of human intelligence both from an infiltration perspective as well as trust citizens to help. We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens but our government treats us like babies and thinks we can't handle it and will panic. He did a test for Congress recently putting an empty briefcase in 5 major spots in 5 US cities and not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to check it out. In fact, in Chicago - someone tried to steal it! In Israel an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds with a citizen shouting "Unattended Bag" and the area cleared slowly, calmly and immediately by the people themselves. Unfortunately, we haven't hurt enough yet for us to be that concerned.... He also discussed how many children were in preschool and kindergarten after 9/11 without parents to pick them up and the schools did not have a plan. Do you have a plan with your kids, schools and families if you cannot reach each other by phone? If you cannot return to your house? If you cannot get to your child's school - do they know what to do? We should all have a plan. He said that our government's plan after the next attack is to immediately cut-off EVERYONE's ability to use their telephone, cell phone, blackberry because they don't want terrorists to be able to talk to one another - do you have a plan if you cannot communicate directly with those that you love? Last week the Today Show began with a segment that Al Qaeda was resurfacing - the same kind of action on the Pakistani border occurred before 9/11... It is scary, but we do not have panic, we just need to be aware.... Unfortunately, the current Administration has not been helpful and we can not change things until 2008. Response to the US Vs UK military questions? Just read this article. It came out of the most anti-American newspaper in the world. The Guardian... That being said, even these idiots can not deny the scope of American power. Oh yeah...There is no way Britain could even begin to dream about winning a (hypothetical) war against America. Read up on the US Military - no one even comes close. This isn't opinion...its fact. -------- American power -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armed to the teeth Is Bush's awesome increase in military spending a reasonable response to the afermath of September 11, or is he creating a force almost too powerful for its own good? Peter Beaumont and Ed Vulliamy report Is America too powerful for its own good? You can have your say online here. Observer Worldview Sunday February 10, 2002 The Observer There is a United States special forces dog-handler who meets journalists, diplomats and aid workers off the UN flight to Kabul. His job is to search luggage and ensure the security of US troops in Afghanistan. He is short, gingery and aggressive. His skills at persuasion are limited to shouting at the milling crowd: 'Stand back! Stand back! My dog will bite!' Last week that phrase had become the defining motto and operating credo for the military and foreign policy of the Bush administration. Already President George W. Bush has put Iran, Iraq and North Korea on notice as terrorist-sponsoring nations at the centre of an international 'axis of evil', despite the CIA's recent evidence that none of them was in the business of threatening the United States at present. Article continues -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last Monday, to back that explicit threat, he announced an increase in US military spending of 15 per cent, the biggest in 20 years, more than double the military spending in all of the European Union. The rise will be $36 billion (£26.5bn) this year, $48 billion next year and $120 billion over the next five years, rising to a staggering two trillion over the next five years. Even this is not enough for General Richard Myers, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. They want the US defence budget to increase at an even faster rate. What all this means is clear. Troubled by the 11 September attacks and buoyed by the ease of the war against Afghanistan, Bush's message to the 'evil doers' of the world is that he has a dog; that it is very big, getting bigger, and certainly it will bite. The puzzle about the latest rise in defence spending is that America at the beginning of the 21st century is already not so much a superpower as a behemoth on the world stage. Economically dominant, it enjoys military and cultural power unrivalled since the days of the Roman emperors, as the American author Robert D. Kaplan reminds us in his new book, Warrior Politics. Typically, it has been left to the French, traditionally suspicious of US global hegemony, to find the best words to describe it. Gigantisme militaire they call it, in a phrase that describes both the scale of America's ambitions and also a pathological condition: an organism grown so large it is sick. The question the rest of the world is asking itself is: Who is the enemy America is arming itself so against? And why? 'Ostensibly,' says one European diplomat, 'this is about security. But quite how a massive increase in defence spending is supposed to prevent another terrorist attack remains unclear. Instead this seems to be about repairing the bruised American psyche after 11 September. America's powerlessness in the face of this attack requires big gestures and reassurances, even if they are counter-productive and meaningless.' Indeed, some analysts say, if it is security that America seeks it is better sought in dialogue with potentially threatening states, rather than in reinforcing the idea already held by many anti-US groups that it is an evil empire bent on world domination. Cynics have identified more overtly self-serving strands in the Republican obsession with America's defence. The 'war' rhetoric, as some US liberal commentators have pointed out, serves a purely domestic Republican agenda in the post-11 September mood of national paranoia: to win Bush a second presidential term and, in the shorter term, regain Congress. The reality - even before the latest proposed increases in military spending - is that America could beat the rest of the world at war with one hand tied behind its back. The requirement that US armed forces be able to fight two fully fledged wars with two separate adversaries simultaneously may recently have been dropped, but only because it would be hard pushed to find two such equal foes to fight. A single US nuclear-powered carrier group - which forms around the USS Enterprise, for example, with a flight deck almost a mile in length and a superstructure 20 storeys high - concentrates more military power in one naval group than most states can manage with all their armed forces. America has seven of these battle groups. It is not just the scale and power of these weapons systems. The reach of US arms, too, is awesome. When the USS Kitty Hawk was sent with its accompanying warships from Yokohama to the Gulf for the war against Afghanistan, it covered 6,000 miles in just 12 days to be transformed into a vast floating forward attack station for thousands of US special forces. Its B-52 bombers can fly and refuel across the world armed with cruise missiles that can be fired hundreds of miles away from hostile skies, the missiles themselves directed to their targets by satellites in orbit. And America's supremacy in bombs, planes, satellites, tanks and real-time intelligence have made the prospect of US casualties remote, except in the event of cock-up or disaster. And, significantly, as the world's only economic hyper-power, it can afford this level of militarisation. But against all this even the manufacturers of America's arms - like the aviation giant Lockheed-Martin - have been struggling for a decade or so to define the threat its top-shelf jets will be battling in the skies, being forced in one memorable presentation to show the European Eurofighter as a potential adversary. So why the need for more and better military power? Even military analysts are baffled. 'The rise in US military spending,' says Dan Plesch, senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, 'ought to be compared to the decision in the First World War to order up more cavalry when the first wave had been mown down by machine-guns. 'The US has no competitor in high-tech military equipment. And what it is spending its money on is mostly irrelevant against the knives used to carry out 11 September. The bombing of Afghanistan has created the illusion of victory.' Professor Paul Kennedy at Yale University calculates that the US now spends more each year than the next nine largest national defence budgets combined. Indeed America is responsible for about 40 per cent of the world's military spending. The new defence expenditure will be paid for by a freshly dug deficit and cuts to every other federal spending programme - including social security, Medicare and urban renewal - apart from tax breaks loaded heavily in favour of the upper-income brackets. Amid all this, military might has emerged as the central tenet of America's new power, the defining feature of the Bush administration. Already it is causing alarm, even among America's closest allies in Nato, where Lord Robertson, the usually unflappable secretary-general, has been moved to warn some members that unless the declining European defence expenditure is reversed then Europe - and the Europeans in Nato - are in danger of becoming military pygmies. It is not a prospect likely to worry the military hawks in the Bush administration, who favour unilateralism over alliance. Indeed the Nato alliance, built to counter the rival superpower conflict of the Cold War, is already almost redundant, some diplomats claim. 'Will the Americans ever fight a war through Nato again?' asks Carl Bildt, former Swedish Prime Minister. 'It's doubtful. The United States reserves the right to itself to wage war, and dumps on others the messy, expensive business of nation-building and peace keeping'. And the Afghan war has not only put the US in sole command of the world, but fundamentally reshaped the architecture of international alliances. Central Asia is splattered with new American fortresses; the Pacific and Indian oceans are patrolled by aircraft carriers and accompanying fleets of awesome size.
Just how powerful is the United States..(militarily)??? This was not writen by an American...This comes from an european newspaper...I post this in lue of the recent uprising in "loosing confidence of the American Military. Our boys and girls, of the USAF, are the finest in the world...There is no question about it...Anyway...This is what people in Britain think of our military capability... Armed to the teeth Is Bush's awesome increase in military spending a reasonable response to the afermath of September 11, or is he creating a force almost too powerful for its own good? Last Monday, to back that explicit threat, he announced an increase in US military spending of 15 per cent, the biggest in 20 years, more than double the military spending in all of the European Union.
